Solo trip: Liverpool & The Cavern Club

In summer 2023, I decided to go for my first local solo trip. I hadn’t been on any day trips on my own yet and since the weather was so nice, I decided to spend the day in Liverpool.

I’ve been to a museum on a college trip a long time ago, and a festival a few years after, but I’d never explored the city and seen all the touristy things. My first stop was to The Beatles museum. There’s plenty of Beatles stuff to see in Liverpool and I was there for all of it!

The Beatles museum takes you through all the different decades of their music and the stories behind all of it. There’s also a headset you can get to have an audio guide talk you through all the different spots.

There’s lots of memorabilia and items that have been preserved over the years, one of the most impressive displays is the John Lennon Imagine set! This was my personal favourite.

The city itself was lovely in the summer, I had the most fun just strolling along the docks.

The Cavern Club is a famous club where The Beatles used to perform all the time, along with tons of other artists. After seeing the replica of it in the museum, I had to go and visit the real one! The street was buzzing with people, there were other bars nearby that also had people performing in them. The most impressive thing was seeing all the names on the wall of people who’d played there. This was just one small section of it.

If you haven’t been to Liverpool or any of the Beatles exhibitions they have there, I highly recommened it! Especially in the summer so you can enjoy how nice the docks are. I also recommend just going on more local solo trips, you don’t always have to go abroad to have new experiences!
