First trip of 2024! Strasbourg & Paris

One place that’s been on our minds for a while is Strasbourg, so with a lot more free time this year and to shake off the January blues, we booked the trip for the start of February.

We flew first flew to Paris and then got the train straight to Strasbourg from the airport. It wasn’t the most scenic train compared to other trips, but it was a fairly quick train anyway.

We’d seen so many pictures of Strasbourg and just thought it looked so nice, it’s literally like a postcard town, and it was just as nice in real life.

This is a cafe where we had breakfast one day.

We also found out it’s the capital of Christmas! So there was lots of Christmas stuff everywhere, which also means we’ll have to visit again during Christmas to see it in full swing!

We travelled back to Paris for a couple of nights before our flight back. I’d been to Paris twice before, both times with a big group of people so it was nice to see it at a slower pace and take more time with it.

We did all the classic touristy stuff, we saw the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, we had baguettes, croissants, crepes and we saw the Arc De Triumphe. One thing I never knew about the Arc De Triumphe tho was that you can go up and stand on the top of it! I don’t know why I never knew that, so of course we went and did it. The stairs were absolute hell, but the view was amazing!

Those stairs felt like they were never going to end.

But it’s completely worth it when you get to the top!

The highlight of the trip by far though was seeing the Eiffel Tower at night. I’d seen it before only from far away but we went and saw it up close and it was truly magical. I’ll never get bored of looking at this picture!
